This course is designed to expose sixth semester students, to the basic understanding regarding the contemporary socio-economic and political history of Kerala. It will also provide a basic understanding regarding the major trends in the Environmental and cultural history in Kerala. It will also expose the students to the major agitations, Reforms, Kerala Model Development, Tourism, Gulf Migration, art, Literature and cinema in contemporary Kerala.
